Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Lead and support the Ward 209 Urology team
✔️ Manage and coordinate care in a busy 25-bedded surgical ward
✔️ Work with a multidisciplinary team including consultants and specialist nurses
✔️ Provide leadership and management for both clinical and non-clinical staff
✔️ Ensure a high standard of care for urology patients, both elective and emergency
✔️ Oversee clinical excellence, continuous service improvements, and staff development
✔️ Deliver patient care in a technologically advanced, minimally invasive environment (robotic surgery)
What We Need From You:
To be successful in this role, we’re looking for a highly skilled and dynamic individual with the following:
✔️ Extensive post-registration nursing experience, including leadership in a ward environment
✔️ Strong leadership skills, with a commitment to developing your team and the service
✔️ Ability to manage and adapt to the complexities of a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
✔️ Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
✔️ Evidence of continuous service improvement and personal development in nursing practice
✔️ Experience in managing urology patients or similar surgical specialties is advantageous

About Ward 209 – Urology:
Ward 209 is a vibrant and fast-paced surgical ward specialising in urology, providing care to patients undergoing both elective and emergency urological surgeries. The ward is equipped with advanced robotic surgical systems, ensuring minimally invasive procedures that help improve recovery time for patients. Supported by our UCAN centre, the ward provides immediate access to specialist care for patients diagnosed with urological cancer.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
✔️ Registered Nurse with substantial post-registration experience
✔️ Leadership experience in a hospital or ward setting
✔️ Experience managing complex care, particularly in a surgical or urology environment
✔️ Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
