Role Overview

Moyo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer with extensive experience in the mining and processing industry. This role demands a leader who will oversee the planning, design, implementation, and optimization of control and instrumentation systems that ensure efficient, safe, and reliable plant operations. As a senior engineer, you will manage multiple projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high-impact solutions on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Lead and manage complex C&I projects from concept through completion, ensuring delivery against schedules and budgets.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate control systems seamlessly with plant operations.

• Prepare comprehensive project reports, proposals, and status updates for stakeholders and management.

Design and Development

• Select and specify appropriate instrumentation and control equipment tailored to project needs.

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, including ISA, IEC, and IEEE.

• Develop and review system designs, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control philosophies, and architectures.

Installation and Commissioning

• Oversee installation, calibration, and commissioning of C&I systems to ensure optimal performance.

• Conduct thorough site inspections and testing to verify compliance with design specifications.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues encountered during commissioning.

Maintenance and Optimization

• Design and implement preventive maintenance programs for control systems and instrumentation.

• Analyze system performance data to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.

• Provide technical support and training to plant operations and maintenance teams.

Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all activities conform to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Participate actively in safety audits and incident investigations relating to control systems.

• Conduct risk assessments and enforce mitigation strategies for C&I systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Relevant degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.

• 8-10 years of professional experience in control and instrumentation engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.

• Proven experience in mining and processing plant environments.

• Strong project management capabilities.

• Expertise in control system design and programming (e.g., PLC, DCS, SCADA).

• In-depth knowledge of instrumentation selection, installation, and maintenance.

• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISA, IEC, IEEE.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
