Job Overview

Hatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage electrical engineering functions within complex, multidisciplinary projects. The role involves supervising engineering teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and aligning project execution with scope, budget, and timelines.

This position is ideal for experienced professionals who excel in leadership, technical problem-solving, and delivering large-scale engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a clear understanding of project scope, timelines, and cost requirements
• Prepare and manage engineering deliverables and project schedules
• Lead the development of electrical work plans within project execution strategies
• Manage engineering work packages to ensure adherence to budgets and deadlines
• Review and approve electrical design criteria, standards, and technical documentation
• Oversee preparation of specifications, datasheets, and engineering drawings
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution
• Assign and monitor tasks for engineering teams, ensuring quality and progress
• Participate in design reviews and engineering coordination meetings
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
• Support development of project-specific procedures and safety management plans
• Conduct quality audits and ensure adherence to engineering standards
• Promote ethical and professional engineering practices

Qualifications

Education

• BSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project engineering
• Proven experience on large, multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Experience managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects
• Strong understanding of procurement, commissioning, and contracting processes

Skills

• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Advanced planning and organizational skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering systems and technologies
• Ability to manage cost, quality, and schedule deliverables
