Job Overview
Hatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage electrical engineering functions within complex, multidisciplinary projects. The role involves supervising engineering teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and aligning project execution with scope, budget, and timelines.
This position is ideal for experienced professionals who excel in leadership, technical problem-solving, and delivering large-scale engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a clear understanding of project scope, timelines, and cost requirements
- Prepare and manage engineering deliverables and project schedules
- Lead the development of electrical work plans within project execution strategies
- Manage engineering work packages to ensure adherence to budgets and deadlines
- Review and approve electrical design criteria, standards, and technical documentation
- Oversee preparation of specifications, datasheets, and engineering drawings
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution
- Assign and monitor tasks for engineering teams, ensuring quality and progress
- Participate in design reviews and engineering coordination meetings
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Support development of project-specific procedures and safety management plans
- Conduct quality audits and ensure adherence to engineering standards
- Promote ethical and professional engineering practices
Qualifications
Education
- BSc or BEng in Electrical Engineering
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project engineering
- Proven experience on large, multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Experience managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects
- Strong understanding of procurement, commissioning, and contracting processes
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Advanced planning and organizational skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering systems and technologies
- Ability to manage cost, quality, and schedule deliverables
- Knowledge of engineering workflows, standards, and safety regulations
