⚡ Key Role
Provide consulting engineering services focused on the design of:
-
MV & LV systems
-
Power and lighting
-
Single-line diagrams
-
Reticulation
-
Generators & UPS
-
Fire detection and evacuation systems
-
Data, CCTV, access control, intruder systems
-
Building management systems
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
-
Prepare designs, calculations, budgets, tender documents, and project financial controls
-
Conduct construction monitoring and manage electrical projects through all lifecycle stages
-
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
-
Complete projects independently from inception to close-out
-
Manage client relationships and ensure excellent service delivery
-
Attend business networking events and contribute to marketing efforts
-
Set up fee agreements, calculate fees, manage WIP, hours forecasting, and invoicing
-
Uphold and promote WSP’s SHEQ standards and zero-harm commitment

🎓 Qualifications & Experience
-
BSc Eng. or BTech in Electrical Engineering
-
ECSA Registration (advantageous)
-
7+ years consulting engineering experience within building services or industrial sectors
-
SAQCC Registration (advantageous)
⚙️ Technical Skills & Competencies
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Knowledge of SANS10142-1&2, SANS10400, SANS204
-
Familiarity with building contracts (JBCC, FIDIC, NEC)
-
Expertise in MV/LV reticulation design
-
Understanding of standby power systems and synchronisation
-
Knowledge of renewable energy installations
-
Experience with Autodesk BIM: Revit, Navisworks, Glue, Field
-
Software: Relux, Dialux, EcoDial, CBi, or ETAP
-
Strong MS Office skills
-
High attention to detail and quality control
-
Able to work independently and take ownership of designs
-
Valid driver’s licence with willingness to travel locally and within Africa
