Role Purpose:
As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of mission-critical software applications that align with our business strategies. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced technologies and tackle complex integration challenges. You will work with technologies like Java EE, Docker, AWS, Oracle, WebSphere Liberty, and more. Your contributions will ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that improve business efficiency and provide ongoing value to the company.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Software Development & Design:

Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-grade applications.

Design scalable and efficient solutions to support the system architecture.

Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code for new software functionality.
✔ Collaboration & Communication:
-
Work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and the testing team to define and implement software solutions.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
-
Provide regular updates on technical design and progress to stakeholders.
✔ System Integration & Testing:
-
Collaborate in developing and testing new software components.
-
Participate in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Ensure the quality of deliverables through comprehensive testing.
✔ Mentoring & Leadership:
-
Guide junior developers and provide technical mentorship.

Review and quality assure deliverables to ensure adherence to best practices.

Support continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
✔ Performance & Support:

Monitor the performance of solutions and recommend improvements.

Provide ongoing support for existing software applications.
-
Troubleshoot and resolve software errors and issues.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
✔ Experience:
-
5-7 years of Java development experience, specifically with Java EE on Unix-based platforms.

Strong experience in back-end development, particularly with Java EE, REST, and microservices.
✔ Education:
-
Relevant IT qualification (degree or diploma).
-
Post-graduate IT qualifications are advantageous.
✔ Technical Skills:
-
Proficiency with tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, and Linux/AIX.

Advanced knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, including inheritance, interfaces, and abstract classes.

Solid understanding of CI/CD processes and REST API design.
