We are seeking a highly qualified and strategic Senior Legal Advisor to join our legal division. This role reports directly to the Head of Legal: Africa and is critical to managing BevCo’s legal and regulatory framework while supporting strategic decisions and risk mitigation across the group.

🎯 Job Purpose

As the Senior Legal Advisor, you will oversee key legal functions while ensuring compliance with relevant national and cross-border regulations. You’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding BevCo’s legal and reputational integrity, managing legal risks, and advising stakeholders on strategic legal matters.

This is a hands-on legal leadership role requiring experience in corporate and commercial law, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, litigation oversight, and legal advisory across multiple jurisdictions.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

✅ Legal & Compliance

  • Implement and manage legal strategies, frameworks, and policies aligned with BevCo’s goals.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, NDAs, and contracts.

  • Provide legal opinions, risk analysis, and strategic guidance to business units.

  • Lead engagements with external legal counsel and oversee dispute resolution and litigation.

  • Maintain BevCo’s contract repository and legal templates.

✅ Corporate Affairs & Governance

  • Provide company secretarial support, including preparation of board minutes and governance documentation.

  • Assist with the legal formation and registration of entities.

  • Support ethics and compliance functions, ensuring alignment with governance standards.

✅ Transformation & BBBEE

  • Drive transformation within the legal function, supporting socio-economic initiatives and BBBEE compliance.

  • Collaborate with pillar owners to track, report, and align transformation progress with strategic goals.

✅ Legal Research & IP Management

  • Conduct legal research and analysis of legislation, case law, and regulatory developments.

  • Support projects involving trademarks, IP rights, and proprietary information.

✅ Cross-Functional Projects

  • Work closely with internal teams to integrate legal frameworks into day-to-day business operations.

  • Drive legal risk mitigation and ensure that legal considerations are embedded in key decisions.

📘 Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Qualification: BCom Law or LLB

  • Preferred: Postgraduate degree in Law

  • Experience: 5+ years in legal advisory, compliance, or legal management (In-house preferred)

  • Tools: Proficiency in MS Office

  • Other: Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel
