💼 Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Advisor to provide proactive legal and risk management services within our asset management division. You will play a critical role in mitigating legal risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and enabling the business to operate efficiently and ethically.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional legal advice to internal stakeholders to reduce asset management legal risks.

  • Draft and review contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

  • Liaise with regulators on fund and Section 65 applications.

  • Interpret, implement, and communicate legislative changes impacting asset management.

  • Present legal insights to internal teams, external stakeholders, and industry bodies.

  • Participate in transformation, culture-building, and social responsibility initiatives.

  • Monitor legislative compliance and deliver relevant training.

  • Analyse business processes to identify gaps and recommend improvements.

  • Lead and support risk and compliance projects from planning to completion.

  • Engage in technology-related legal work, including digital onboarding platforms and AI efficiencies.

📋 Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) Postgraduate Degree.

  • Experience: 5–7 years as a legal advisor in asset management or financial services.

  • Knowledge of: CISCA, PFA, FICA, FATCA, CRS, FAIS, ITA, unit trusts, retirement funds, and investment products.

  • Experience drafting, interpreting, and commenting on legislation.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning (CFP).

  • Strong stakeholder management and governance expertise.
