👷‍♂️ About the Role

Join Anglo American’s dedicated team as a Senior Patrolperson – Operations where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our people, assets, and infrastructure. This role is essential to maintaining secure operations at our Mortimer Smelters site. You will perform patrols, emergency response, investigations, and security escort duties.

✅ Key Responsibilities

✔️ Follow work and security instructions and standards
✔️ Conduct routine and ad hoc patrols/checkpoint duties
✔️ Support high-risk operations through armed escort (e.g., cash/bullion/VIPs)
✔️ Assist in investigations and surveillance using proper tools
✔️ Respond effectively to security threats and risk situations
✔️ Administer and maintain security and communication equipment
✔️ Carry out alcohol and drug tests where required
✔️ Provide team support, rostering and allocate duties
✔️ Promote safety and compliance with all security policies

📌 Minimum Requirements

✔️ Grade 12 (with RPL for skills/experience)
✔️ Registered with PSIRA – Grade B
✔️ Valid driving license: Code 08/10/14
✔️ Valid public driver’s permit

🔐 Pre-Requisites

✔️ Psychometric assessment for firearms
✔️ Firearm competency
✔️ No criminal record
✔️ Must pass a polygraph test

💼 Experience & Skills

✔️ Minimum 3 years of security-related experience
✔️ Good English communication (spoken, written, reading)
✔️ Basic computer literacy
✔️ Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills
✔️ Knowledge of handling emergencies and IT security will be an advantage
