Job Overview

The Service Advisor is responsible for ensuring service excellence at the point of sale by managing POS operations, supervising front-line staff, and delivering a consistently high standard of customer service. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role is ideal for a confident retail professional who is passionate about health, beauty, and customer engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and control all point-of-sale operational activities efficiently

  • Ensure secure cash handling and effective stock management to minimise shrinkage

  • Train, motivate, and supervise shop assistants and cashiers

  • Ensure adequate staffing levels in line with work schedules, labour legislation, and company policies

  • Resolve customer queries professionally and timeously in line with company standards

  • Drive Clicks ClubCard sign-ups to achieve participation targets

  • Enforce security measures, cash controls, and returns procedures

  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and administrative standards

  • Act as a visible brand ambassador delivering friendly, professional service

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, promotions, and in-store events


Qualifications

Education

  • Grade 12 (Essential)

  • Relevant Retail or Business Management qualification (Essential for external applicants)

  • Mathematics 50% and English 50% at Grade 12 level (Desirable)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a customer-facing retail or FMCG environment

  • Experience overseeing staff within store operations

  • Numeracy and stock management exposure

Skills

  • Strong understanding of retail and financial management principles

  • Knowledge of merchandising, promotions, and compliance procedures

  • Sound leadership and supervisory capability

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Planning, organising, and problem-solving skills

  • Computer literacy and strong numeracy skills
