AVI Limited, one of South Africa’s leading FMCG companies, is looking for a skilled and proactive Service Desk Agent to join our Information Technology Shared Services Division in Cape Town on a 6-month fixed-term contract.

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing

As a Service Desk Agent, you’ll be the first point of contact for business users needing technical assistance. Your role is crucial in maintaining productivity across the organization by responding to incidents swiftly and effectively using ITIL methodologies.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Delivering operational and first-line support to business users.

  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues on a variety of systems and platforms.

  • Logging and managing incidents via the internal system.

  • Monitoring system alerts and infrastructure performance.

  • Performing SAP transports and updating the IT Knowledge Base.

  • Supporting core infrastructure (VMWare, MS Exchange, Windows Servers).

  • Communicating planned downtimes to relevant stakeholders.

  • Collaborating closely with the IT Infrastructure team for escalated support.


📌 Minimum Requirements

Experience:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a Service Desk or IT Support role.

  • Experience with enterprise desktop environments and Microsoft technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Matric / Grade 12

  • Diploma in Information Technology

  • Certifications: MCSA and CCNA (Required); A+/N+ advantageous.

  • ITIL Foundation Certificate (preferred but not mandatory)

Other Requirements:

  • Availability for after-hours support, including weekends and holidays.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.

  • A passion for customer service and technical troubleshooting.
