About the Role

As a Service & Support Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring Rubicon’s customers receive world-class after-sales technical support. You’ll collaborate with senior technicians and support engineers, handle day-to-day technical inquiries, and resolve customer issues efficiently and professionally.

This position goes beyond just fixing problems—you’ll be involved in commissioning new systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and even supporting product development efforts. If you’re driven, technically skilled, and eager to grow, this is the perfect role for you!

Key Responsibilities

✅ Respond to technical support requests via phone, email, or in-person visits
✅ Assist in commissioning new systems on-site locally, nationally, and potentially internationally
✅ Diagnose and troubleshoot faulty equipment and system issues
✅ Collaborate with senior engineers on complex support cases
✅ Support sales consultants by providing technical insights on products and systems
✅ Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical challenges
✅ Contribute to creating and updating technical documentation for new products
✅ Attend regular supplier and technical training sessions
✅ Document all support activities in the company CRM system
✅ Collaborate with other technical support teams nationwide to improve systems and share expertise

Qualifications & Experience

✔️ Minimum: Matric (NQF4) or equivalent qualification
✔️ Electrical qualification (Wireman’s License highly advantageous)
✔️ 1–2 years’ technical support experience in electrical/power/critical reserve power environments (e.g., UPS systems, hybrid inverters)
✔️ Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
✔️ Additional technical diploma/certifications beneficial
