About the Role
Ecolab, a global leader in water, hygiene, and energy technologies, is looking for a SHEQ Officer to join our team in Johannesburg. This role is critical in maintaining safety standards, ensuring compliance with health and environmental regulations, and mitigating workplace hazards. Key Responsibilities
✔️ Safety Compliance & Risk Management: Implement and maintain SHEQ programs, ensuring alignment with legal and company standards.
✔️ Hazard Prevention: Monitor and address chemical, physical, and biological risks in the workplace.
✔️ Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and complaints.
✔️ Process & Equipment Improvement: Recommend enhancements to processes, design, and operating equipment to reduce hazards.
✔️ Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all safety, health, and environmental regulations are adhered to.
✔️ Contractor SHE Plan Reviews: Assess and approve contractor safety plans and risk assessments.
✔️ HSE Audits & Training: Conduct SHE compliance audits and provide training to employees on safety procedures.
✔️ Daily & Monthly Inspections: Perform regular site inspections and maintain accurate safety records.
✔️ Emergency Preparedness: Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
✔️ Continuous Improvement: Drive behavioral safety programs and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
🔹 Education: Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety / Environmental Management.
🔹 Experience: Proven experience in a SHEQ role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
🔹 Skills: Strong knowledge of SHE regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation, and employee training.
🔹 Certifications: SHEQ-related certifications will be an advantage.
🔹 Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.
