Job Overview

The Social Media and Content Production Intern will support the marketing and content teams in developing and executing engaging social media content for the Personal Shopper Programme. The role focuses on creating visual assets, managing social media content schedules, and supporting marketing campaigns.

This internship offers an excellent opportunity for aspiring content creators and digital marketers to gain hands-on experience in social media management, digital storytelling, and brand communication within a leading e-commerce organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with executing the social media strategy for the Personal Shopper Programme.

  • Schedule, publish, and manage social media posts across multiple platforms.

  • Engage with the online community and support social media interactions.

  • Create visual assets including images, GIFs, and short-form videos.

  • Use design tools such as Canva or Photoshop to develop creative content.

  • Support marketing campaigns aimed at increasing awareness of the programme.

  • Translate program updates and benefits into engaging social media content.

  • Ensure all published content aligns with Takealot’s brand guidelines.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to support marketing and promotional activities.


Qualifications

Education

  • N6 Certificate in Marketing, Media, Communications, or a related field.

Experience

  • No formal work experience required, but candidates must provide a portfolio or digital folder showcasing previous creative work or social media content.

  • Academic projects or freelance work related to social media or content creation will be advantageous.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data validation).

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace tools.

  • Knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

  • Understanding of visual design principles and digital content creation.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Experience using design tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop.
