At NHS Highland, we are excited to offer a permanent Social Worker position within our Inverness West Urban Team. You’ll be working in a dynamic and supportive team with multi-disciplinary professionals, such as nurses and allied health professionals (AHPs), to provide high-quality care to people in need of community care services.
As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of services, including developing, implementing, and assessing care plans in collaboration with service users, families, and other agencies. You will be involved in making a real difference to the lives of those who require community care, providing essential support and safeguarding vulnerable individuals in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
✔️ Providing Social Work Services: Deliver high-quality services to individuals requiring community care and their carers.
✔️ Care Plan Development & Implementation: Work with families and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and assess care plans that meet the needs of service users.
✔️ Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults: Carry out statutory duties under Adult Support and Protection and Adults with Incapacity legislation to safeguard individuals at risk.
✔️ Active Caseload Management: Manage your own caseload and perform regular reviews to ensure timely care.
✔️ Duty Participation: Support the team by undertaking Duty when required, ensuring the smooth running of social work services.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this Social Worker role, you should meet the following criteria:
✔️ Professional Registration: Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) on the ‘Social Worker’ part of the Register.
✔️ Relevant Qualification: Hold a qualification equivalent to the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW), recognized by the SSSC.
✔️ Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of an integrated team alongside nurses, AHPs, and other social workers.
✔️ Experience: Previous experience in community care or working with vulnerable adults will be beneficial.
✔️ Commitment to Safeguarding: Knowledge of Adult Support and Protection and Adults with Incapacity legislation.
