NOV South Africa is hiring a Software Engineer – Simulation & Delivery to lead the configuration and deployment of simulation systems for automation packages. Based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), this critical role will focus on optimizing PLC software (Siemens S7), enhancing network communication, and delivering high-performance simulation solutions.

You will be part of a global leader in oil and gas equipment, contributing to purpose-driven innovation that powers the industry worldwide.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

• Configure and optimize PLC software (Siemens S7) for simulators and machines.

• Set up and maintain high-performance network configurations.

• Tune simulation environments to meet technical performance standards.

• Evaluate and implement new system features and upgrades.

• Provide hands-on technical support to simulator users and stakeholders.

• Create detailed technical documentation and user guides.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to support project deliverables and troubleshooting.

🎓 Minimum Requirements

📘 Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.

• Advanced technical certifications are an advantage.

🛠️ Technical Skills:

• Expertise in PLC programming with Siemens S7.

• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols.

• Experience with simulation software development.

• Proven ability to debug simulations of electrical/hydraulic systems.

• Understanding of real-time system performance tuning.

🧩 Other Requirements:

• Must be able to work in a lab/workshop environment.

• Ability to handle complex and technical system installations and adjustments.

• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
