Job Overview

Vodacom is seeking a Specialist Software Engineer to support the scalability and future readiness of its digital platforms. The role focuses on designing, building, and delivering high-quality web-based solutions aligned to business strategy.

You will work within agile squads, collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable software.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate within agile squads to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Partner with business and IT teams to align technical solutions with strategic objectives.
Provide oversight on technology risks, dependencies, and issue management across projects.
Define and maintain standards for CI/CD pipelines, documentation, and agile practices.
Participate in detailed technical solution design for stable and scalable web platforms.
Conduct regular reviews to drive continuous improvement within development teams.
Automate controls, metrics, and development standards to enhance delivery quality.
Promote best practices and knowledge sharing across teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education

Matric (essential).
National Diploma (3-year) or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field (essential).

Experience

3–5 years’ experience working with Node.js and React.
Proven experience in web application development.
Exposure to AWS cloud environments (advantageous).
Experience working with SQL databases (advantageous).

Skills

Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, and React (frontend and backend).
Solid experience with RESTful APIs.
Advanced HTML and CSS skills.
UX/UI component design experience.
Experience deploying applications in AWS environments.
Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
