As a VAS Specialist, you’ll be part of a highly technical team responsible for maintaining and optimising critical Value-Added Service systems, ensuring customer satisfaction, service resilience, and operational excellence.
🚀 What You’ll Be Doing

Conduct routine preventative and corrective maintenance on key systems including Load Balancers, Fusion Middleware, Common User Repositories, AAA, Partner APIs, ADC, and NPP.

Provide high-level operational support for VAS systems such as WebLogic and WAP Gateway, with a focus on uptime, resilience, and optimisation.

Offer expert assistance to ASOC, Customer Care, and internal business stakeholders regarding VAS-related issues.

Handle systems, database administration, application management, and continuous performance improvements.

Lead or contribute to architecture changes, infrastructure upgrades, and the rollout of new services and technologies.

Participate in war room sessions and act as a key contact during business escalations to maintain Vodacom’s brand reputation.

Monitor system health using proactive tools, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery preparedness.

Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for seamless service delivery and escalation resolution.

Engage in rotational standby duties for after-hours support.
✅ What You’ll Need
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
-
A 3-year Degree/National Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

3–5 years’ experience with:
-
Managing Linux-based servers and applications.
-
VAS Gateway systems such as WebLogic/WAP Gateway.
-
Oracle, GSM, and Networking technologies.
-
3GPP protocols and Load Balancer/Proxy solutions.

Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Team collaboration and the ability to lead and guide colleagues.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Experience:
-
Experience in cross-functional team environments.

Ability to manage projects from design to deployment.
-
Security and SOX compliance understanding.
-
Proven track record in disaster recovery planning.
