NHS Scotland is seeking a passionate and skilled Staff Nurse (Band 5) to join the dynamic surgical team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse who is eager to expand their expertise in general surgery within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
About the Role:
As a Staff Nurse in Ward 206, you will be part of a 20-bed general surgery unit specialising in colorectal, hepatobiliary, upper gastro-intestinal, and bariatric surgery. This busy ward is focused on delivering enhanced recovery pathways and providing exceptional patient-centered care. The position is full-time (37 hours per week) on night duty, including weekends, for a 12-month fixed-term period.
Key Responsibilities:

Delivering high-quality, compassionate nursing care to surgical patients.

Supporting patients through their surgical journey, including pre-operative and post-operative care.

Collaborating closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.

Adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols at all times.

Participating in ongoing training and development opportunities to advance your surgical nursing skills.

Requirements:

Registered Nurse qualification (Band 5 level).
