About the Role:

The Statutory Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the company’s financial statements are accurate and fully compliant with statutory reporting requirements. You will manage audits, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and consolidated statutory financial statements in line with international standards.

• Manage and oversee external audit processes across South Africa and the broader Africa & Middle East regions.

• Conduct regular financial data reviews to identify discrepancies and suggest improvements.

• Produce monthly statutory financial reports and process related journals.

• Prepare account reconciliations to maintain integrity and accuracy of financial records.

• Research, analyze, and implement new international accounting standards as required.

• Assist in drafting and implementing financial processes and procedures.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic financial planning and decision-making.

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualifications:

  • BCom Accounting Honours (CA(SA) qualification is highly advantageous).

  • Completed SAICA articles.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar statutory accounting role.

  • Proven experience in preparing annual financial statements and handling audit processes.

  • Experience working across Africa and/or the Middle East is beneficial.

• Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Draftworx (advantageous).

  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.

  • Solid understanding of international accounting standards.

• Key Attributes:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
