Job Overview
Infinity Brands is looking for a Storeman Assistant to join our vibrant team in Rustenburg. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to support day-to-day store operations, manage stock flow, assist customers, and ensure smooth inventory control. The ideal candidate will have experience in stock management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
As a Storeman Assistant, you will play an essential role in various stock-related tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the store. Your daily duties will include:
Customer Service
✔ Greet customers and assist with product-related queries.
✔ Ensure that customers receive a friendly and efficient experience in the store.
✔ Provide support to customers by directing them to the right departments.
Stock Management
✔ Order stock, create purchase orders, and manage incoming deliveries.
✔ Ensure stock is received accurately and efficiently.
✔ Inspect products for damages or defects upon receipt.
✔ Ensure all stock is properly labelled, binned, and signed before dispatch.
✔ Follow up on back orders and provide regular updates to the store manager.
✔ Ensure that all stock leaving the store is accounted for and has the correct documentation.
Inventory Control
✔ Handle inventory discrepancies and perform regular stock counts.
✔ Assist with stock replenishment on shelves when stock levels are low.
✔ Perform regular stock take and track success metrics.
✔ Maintain aisle organization and ensure the store remains tidy and well-kept.
✔ Pack products with care, ensuring that fragile items are clearly marked and safely packed.
Operational Efficiency
✔ Ensure that products are tested for quality, especially electrical items.
✔ Manage dispatch bins and ensure proper organization within the dispatch bays.
✔ Assist with any product returns and coordinate the repair process.
✔ Support internal sales teams when the store is busy and assist with other store functions as needed.
Requirements
✔ 1-3 years of experience in a similar stock management or retail role.
✔ Experience in the electronics or retail industry will be beneficial.
✔ Senior Certificate (NQF4) or equivalent.
✔ Must be a South African citizen or possess a valid work permit for South Africa.
✔ Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
✔ Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
✔ A proactive and customer-oriented mindset.
