Job Overview

The Strategic Planning & Business Performance Intern will support organisational planning, performance monitoring, and reporting activities. This internship offers hands-on exposure to strategic frameworks, performance measurement, and business analysis within a public sector environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and refinement of strategic and operational plans

  • Assist with Annual Performance Plans, Operational Plans, and Annual Reports

  • Coordinate and document strategic review and performance monitoring sessions

  • Contribute to quarterly and annual performance reporting

  • Conduct research and benchmarking to inform strategic initiatives

  • Maintain and update performance dashboards and tracking tools

  • Analyse business performance data to identify trends and gaps

  • Coordinate inputs from divisions for planning and reporting purposes

  • Assist with presentations, briefing documents, and stakeholder engagements

  • Maintain accurate filing of strategic and performance documentation

  • Arrange logistics and minute-taking for meetings and workshops


Qualifications

Education

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent

  • NQF Level 7 qualification in:

    • BCom General

    • Public Administration

    • Business Management

    • Strategic Management

Experience

  • No prior work experience required

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Report writing and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
