💡 Job Purpose

As a Support Engineer (Visualisation), you will provide first-line support, configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of enterprise-wide visualisation tools and applications. You’ll be part of a collaborative agile team, ensuring the stability and performance of business-critical tools across Absa’s digital ecosystem.


🧰 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line application support and basic troubleshooting for business intelligence (BI) and data visualisation tools.

  • Handle routine maintenance, configuration, and scheduled upgrades for BI applications.

  • Support and maintain tools like QlikView, Qlik Sense, Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, and similar.

  • Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities (e.g., disaster recovery, performance tuning).

  • Collaborate with teams across development, testing, and operations in a DevOps environment.

  • Maintain user documentation and guide users through support processes.

  • Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and system improvement opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate application inventories, support records, and compliance with SLAs.

  • Understand and support application infrastructure (including AWS, databases, and SaaS platforms).


📚 Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in maintaining and creating dashboards or BI models using tools like QlikView, Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, etc.

  • Experience in deploying solutions to server environments and managing advanced implementations.

  • Understanding of cloud technologies (especially AWS & SaaS-based solutions).

  • Knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL, Excel, and data storage solutions like AWS S3 is preferred.

  • Familiarity with agile and DevOps support methodologies.


🎓 Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
