Are you passionate about supporting people to live independently and with dignity? CrossReach is looking for a caring, enthusiastic Support Worker to join our Threshold Community & Support team in Motherwell. This is an exciting opportunity to provide support to individuals with learning disabilities, empowering them to live life to the fullest.
In this part-time role, you’ll help individuals with daily activities such as cooking, budgeting, and engaging in hobbies, education, and work opportunities. You’ll also support them in enjoying activities like swimming, cycling, and attending college.
A big part of this role is getting out and about in the community, so a valid driver’s license and access to your own vehicle are required. If you’re compassionate, patient, and ready to bring your energy to our team, this is the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, your duties will include:
✔️ Empowering Independence: Assist service users with day-to-day tasks like cooking, budgeting, and managing household duties.
✔️ Promote Hobbies & Well-being: Encourage individuals to pursue activities like swimming, cycling, and attending college.
✔️ Personal Support: Provide emotional support and assist with personal care needs.
✔️ Community Engagement: Help service users access opportunities outside the home, promoting their independence and confidence.
✔️ Social Inclusion: Support individuals in enjoying social activities, and foster a sense of belonging within the community.
Key Requirements
To be considered for the Support Worker role, you should have:
✔️ Compassion & Patience: A genuine desire to help others live independently and with dignity.
✔️ Driving License: You must be a driver with access to your own vehicle for community outings.
✔️ Flexible & Energetic: Willingness to work independently and provide care in a variety of environments.
✔️ Social Care Experience (Preferred): While experience is a bonus, it is not essential. Your compassion and willingness to learn are what matter most.
✔️ Respect for Christian Ethos: As CrossReach is part of the Church of Scotland, you will need to work within our Christian ethos and values.
