Are you looking for a rewarding part-time role where no two days are the same? At CrossReach, we are searching for a compassionate Support Worker to join our team and help individuals with learning disabilities live independently and confidently. This is a permanent part-time position based at our Threshold Community & Support in Motherwell.
As a Support Worker, you will assist individuals with various aspects of daily life, including cooking, budgeting, and encouraging participation in activities they enjoy. A key part of your role will be helping service users engage in activities like swimming, cycling, attending college, and exploring new hobbies. It’s all about empowering them to live life to the fullest, with your support playing a crucial role in their growth and independence.
Key Responsibilities
In your role as a Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
✔️ Assisting with Daily Tasks: Helping individuals with everyday tasks such as cooking, budgeting, and personal care.
✔️ Encouraging Participation in Activities: Supporting clients to take part in activities like swimming, cycling, and attending college.
✔️ Promoting Independence: Empowering individuals to live life confidently and independently.
✔️ Providing Emotional Support: Offering companionship, encouragement, and a caring presence to service users.
✔️ Autonomous Work: While working without direct supervision, you will be trusted to make a meaningful impact each day.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
✔️ Desire to Help Others: A genuine passion for helping people and a willingness to learn.
✔️ Adaptable & Patient: Ability to work in a dynamic environment with individuals who require different levels of support.
✔️ Driving License: You must have a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle, as the role involves transportation.
✔️ No Prior Social Care Experience Required: Experience in social care is not necessary; what matters most is your enthusiasm and desire to support others.
