📝 Job Purpose

Capitec Bank is seeking a skilled Systems Accountant with insurance sector exposure to join their Finance division in Stellenbosch. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple systems, enabling effective financial reporting, operational excellence, and internal control. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise and guide others in the use and development of financial systems.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Execute core accounting functions to maintain accurate financial records across business systems.

• Reconcile complex financial transactions and ensure system-to-ledger alignment.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for system-related accounting functions and controls.

• Identify and address discrepancies or inefficiencies in accounting systems.

• Interpret financial data to assist with strategic decision-making.

• Collaborate with IT and other departments to optimize and develop finance-related systems.

• Support audits and ensure adherence to financial policies and internal controls.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Postgraduate qualification in Financial Accounting or Information Systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Further specialization in Accounting Systems, SAP, or Financial Technology

Experience Required:

• 3+ years of financial reconciliation experience

• Hands-on experience with computerized accounting systems, ideally SAP
