At Oliver Wyman, we’re on the lookout for a highly skilled Talent Manager to join our Johannesburg office. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for resource management, staffing, and career development. As a Talent Manager, you will engage with local consultants, ensuring their professional growth aligns with business objectives while helping to manage resource deployment across various projects.


Key Responsibilities:

Career Development:

  • Engage with consultants to understand their strengths, preferences, and career goals.

  • Provide career advice and support through regular feedback, ensuring alignment with firm expectations.

Resource Management & Staffing:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to staff projects that meet both client needs and consultant career aspirations.

  • Track and update consultant information in the internal database to ensure skills, competencies, and experiences are current.

Performance Management:

  • Work with performance management teams to conduct career reviews and ensure the development needs of consultants are met.

  • Seek feedback from various stakeholders to improve career development processes.

Training & Development:

  • Advise consultants on available learning and development programs to enhance their skills.

  • Monitor and track the progress of consultants in their respective training programs and career goals.

Consultant Engagement & Wellbeing:

  • Act as the point of contact for consultants regarding work-life balance challenges and offer solutions in coordination with the Wellbeing Lead.

  • Track morale across the office, ensuring a supportive and collaborative working environment.


Experience & Skills Required:

🔹 Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, with a preference for those with a focus in Human Resources or Talent Management.

🔹 Experience:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years in a fast-paced client service environment, with a preference for those with Talent Management or HR experience.

🔹 Skills:

  • Proactive, with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize competing demands.

  • Highly proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with resource management systems is a plus.

🔹 Attributes:

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • High level of energy and creativity in approaching challenges.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
