π§βπΌ Role Overview
The Technical Sales Engineer β Distribution Automation will promote and sell Hitachi Energyβs distribution automation portfolio, including protection relays, RTUs, and communication products. The role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to deliver value-driven solutions to utilities, industrial customers, and channel partners, supporting digitalization and grid modernization initiatives.
π Key Responsibilities
π‘ Sales & Business Development

Drive sales of Distribution Automation solutions, protection relays, RTUs, and communication products

Develop and execute account strategies to achieve sales targets and market share growth

Identify new business opportunities and manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure

Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, industries, EPCs, OEMs, panel builders, distributors, and system integrators

Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring long-term partnerships and customer satisfaction
βοΈ Technical & Solution Support

Provide technical support and solution design during pre-sales and post-sales phases
-
Prepare and deliver technical presentations tailored to client needs
-
Collaborate with R&D, product management, and service teams to tailor offerings to customer requirements

Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., IEC 61850, DNP3) and regulatory frameworks
-
Provide feedback to product teams to inform roadmap decisions
π Market & Reporting

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies

Represent Hitachi Energy at events, exhibitions, and seminars
-
Maintain compliance with internal and external regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Promote company values of safety and integrity in all interactions
π Qualifications & Experience
Required:

Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field

5β7 years of experience in technical sales within power distribution or automation
-
Strong knowledge of distribution automation solutions, protection and control systems, RTUs, and communication products

Experience with EPCs, OEMs, panel builders, distributors, and system integrators
-
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
