Role Overview:

We are currently seeking a Technical Specialist to join our team in Johannesburg. This role will involve working closely with Relationship Managers and the High Value Customer team to provide specialist support, manage technical escalations, and improve our customer service processes.

In this role, you will be a subject matter expert who plays a key part in resolving technical issues and driving improvements in processes to ensure an exceptional experience for our high-value clients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Expert Support: Provide specialist technical support to Relationship Managers and the High Value Customer team, ensuring all escalated issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve existing processes to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Complaint Resolution: Take full ownership of Betway Premium customer complaints, ensuring root causes are identified, and solutions are implemented to prevent future issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including product and banking teams, to resolve issues and improve service.
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor to Relationship Managers, offering guidance and sharing best practices to handle complex customer queries.
  • Analysis: Critically analyze service failures and process gaps, proposing solutions to reduce complaints and improve service delivery.

Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role, we are looking for candidates who have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • A degree (BCom or equivalent) is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Proven experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating to achieve shared goals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

Desired Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, odds calculation, and betting types.
  • Experience in the online gaming or casino industry with an understanding of player behavior and industry regulations.
  • Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with pivot tables and statistical methods.
