Job Overview
Absa is seeking a technically qualified Technical Support Agent to support fleet maintenance operations. The role focuses on managing vehicle maintenance and repair activities for fleet customers and AVMS-owned assets.
You will work closely with service providers, internal teams, and customers to ensure cost-effective, compliant, and high-quality maintenance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Manage inbound calls and electronic repair quote submissions from approved merchants and suppliers.

Load, scrutinise, and approve maintenance and repair quotes in line with established protocols.

Ensure all repair work is justified, accurately costed, and compliant with fleet policies.

Apply correct labour rates and flat-rate structures to maintenance requests.

Review vehicle maintenance histories to identify justified repairs, warranty claims, and goodwill opportunities.

Ensure cost savings and quality standards are achieved on every approved quote.

Manage diagnostic reports and cause-of-failure investigations.

Liaise with service providers to ensure timely authorisation and completion of work.

Provide technical advice to call centre agents and customers regarding vehicle issues.

Maintain high responsiveness, turnaround times, and service delivery standards.
Qualifications
Education
-
Relevant Technical Qualification at NQF Level 5.

Higher Diploma in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies (required).
Experience
-
3β4 yearsβ experience in a similar technical or fleet maintenance role.

Proven experience with petrol or diesel vehicle maintenance and diagnostics.
Skills

Strong technical problem-solving and diagnostic skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to assess repair requests and identify root causes accurately.

Strong attention to detail and cost-control awareness.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team-driven environment.
