Position Purpose

As a TEMS Administrator at CHEP, you will be responsible for managing and controlling customer-owned and CHEP equipment at customer premises. You will ensure that all processes, from equipment management to customer support, are handled efficiently, driving customer satisfaction and loyalty.

This role requires someone with strong interpersonal skills and a service-focused mindset, as you will be working directly with customers to resolve queries, manage accounts, and support operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

As a TEMS Administrator, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:

📦 Equipment and Account Management:

  • Administer Equipment: Control and manage all CHEP and/or customer-owned equipment.
  • Process Customer Accounts: Handle customer account processing and reconciliations, including Debit Authorisations and THAAs.
  • Manage Equipment Flow: Track and resolve credit equipment balances, suspended movements, and stock-related issues.
  • Conduct Regular Audits: Perform daily/weekly/monthly stock counts and health checks, providing feedback to clients and staff.
  • Order and Transport Coordination: Order stock and coordinate transport, ensuring timely delivery and collection of equipment.
  • Reporting: Generate weekly and monthly reports on customer activities, equipment usage, and internal reporting.

💼 Customer Service and Relationship Management:

  • Proactive Query Resolution: Resolve customer queries promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build Strong Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, identifying opportunities to improve service and efficiency.
  • Handle Difficult Customers: Resolve complex issues and manage challenging customer situations with patience and professionalism.

📊 Operational Support:

  • Forklift Duties: Perform forklift operations when required.
  • Stock and Equipment Quality Checks: Monitor for misuse and report damages, ensuring the quality of equipment.
  • Support Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist with other site-specific operational tasks as required, such as packaging specification updates or additional reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

To be successful in the TEMS Administrator role, you should meet the following qualifications and possess key skills:

🎓 Qualifications:

  • Matric + Diploma (Essential).
  • Preferably studying towards a business degree.
  • Manual Driver’s License (Required).
  • Forklift License (Advantageous).

💼 Experience:

  • 3-5 years in accounts and reconciliation.
  • 3 years in customer service.
  • 1-2 years in CHEP customer support (Advantageous).

🔧 Skills:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and resolve issues effectively.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills across all levels, both written and verbal.
  • IT Proficiency: Basic IT knowledge, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • CRM Knowledge: Familiarity with Siebel and myCHEP; EDI knowledge is a plus.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a service-oriented mindset.
