The Training and Development Officer plays a critical role in supporting workforce excellence through structured training, continuous improvement, and compliance-driven development initiatives.
π― Role Overview
The Training and Development Officer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating impactful training programmes that enhance employee skills and support organisational goals. This role ensures employees receive relevant development opportunities, compliance training, and support throughout the employee lifecycle.
You will manage training needs analysis, facilitate in-person learning sessions, oversee onboarding/offboarding training, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to build a thriving learning culture.
π οΈ Key Responsibilities
π Training & Learning Operations

Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify gaps and development requirements.

Design customised training programmes aligned to business objectives.

Facilitate and present training sessions across departments.

Evaluate training effectiveness and compile training outcomes reports.
π Administration & Documentation

Maintain training records and documentation for audits and compliance.

Prepare reports, attendance registers, and competency evaluations.

Oversee onboarding and offboarding training processes.
π€ Stakeholder Engagement & Support

Work closely with managers to identify development needs.

Build strong relationships with training providers and internal teams.

Ensure all compliance and statutory training requirements are met.
π Continuous Improvement

Review training processes to enhance delivery and effectiveness.

Support Employment Equity development initiatives and skills planning.

Recommend improvements based on feedback and organisational priorities.
π Minimum Requirements
π Qualifications

National Diploma in Human Resource Management/Development.
πΌ Experience
-
Minimum 3 yearsβ experience as a Training Officer, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
β Skills & Competencies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Confident facilitation and presentation abilities.

Good computer literacy.

Report writing and documentation accuracy.
