This pivotal role focuses on driver training, aiming to enhance driver safety, performance, and professionalism across our operations.

📝 Key Responsibilities:

  • Driver Assessments: Conduct thorough, practical driving skills assessments for new recruits and existing drivers, making well-informed recommendations to management.

  • Skills Development: Facilitate accredited in-house and external driver training, ensuring learners grasp course content through clear explanations and real-world examples.

  • In-Cab Evaluations: Regularly assess drivers on the road, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Incident-Based Training: Analyze incidents, accidents, and performance data (e.g., Drive Cam, telematics, fuel consumption) to create targeted training plans aimed at preventing future issues.

  • Site Visits & Route Optimization: Carry out periodic visits to client sites to evaluate loading/unloading procedures and optimize journey management plans.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all training sessions, assessments, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with certification and reporting requirements.

  • Safety Leadership: Facilitate safety meetings, stand-downs, and basic safety training to reinforce Unitrans’ strong safety culture.

  • Policy & Compliance: Support SHERQ teams during incident investigations and ensure all training meets regulatory and internal policy standards.

  • Driver Coaching: Provide ongoing coaching to foster positive behavioral changes and enhance overall driving standards.


🎓 Minimum Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (required).

    • Additional professional certifications in driver training or occupational health & safety are advantageous.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3–5 years in a similar driver training role, preferably within the logistics, transport, or supply chain sectors.

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • In-depth knowledge of transport regulations and best practices.

    • Strong communication and presentation skills.

    • Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.

    • Confidence in using assessment tools and performance data for training optimization.

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
