This role is based at their dynamic Gosforth Park operation in Germiston and focuses on fleet administration, vehicle tracking, and transport reporting. Purpose of the Role

As a Transport Clerk, your core responsibility is to support seamless logistics and transportation operations. You will play a vital role in the daily administration of dispatches, fleet monitoring, and ensuring compliance with safety and route protocols. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual passionate about transport logistics and system accuracy.


Key Responsibilities

📝 Transport Operations & Reporting

  • Generate and manage daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for dispatch and fleet performance.

  • Monitor routes and vehicle tracking in real-time, escalating route issues where necessary.

  • Verify service schedules to ensure store deliveries match the planned dispatches.

🛠 Fleet & Compliance Management

  • Check and validate vehicle licenses, roadworthy certificates, and driver’s license statuses daily.

  • Liaise with the Mix Telematics team to manage and respond to route incidents and event triggers.

  • Track and report fuel usage and fines daily to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Distribute driver behavior reports regularly for performance review.

🧾 Administrative Duties

  • Execute general transport admin duties to support dispatch, operations, and compliance.

  • Keep documentation organized and available for auditing or analysis.

  • Engage with internal teams to ensure smooth fleet coordination and transport scheduling.


Qualifications

Essential:

  • Matric (Grade 12)

🎓 Preferred:

  • Diploma in Transport Management / Logistics / Supply Chain or equivalent


Experience

  • 2+ years of general administrative experience

  • 2+ years in a transport or logistics-related environment (advantageous)


Skills & Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of logistics and transport operations

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage time effectively and perform well under pressure

  • Experience with vehicle tracking systems (e.g., Mix Telematics)

  • Proficient in MS Excel and Office 365

  • Organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented
