About the Role

Are you dynamic, analytical, and eager to launch your career in financial markets? UBS is offering a 12-month Off-Cycle Internship in its Global Markets Distribution team. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to sales, trading, client advisory, and product solutions across multiple asset classes.

Interns will shadow experienced professionals, support client engagement, and develop the technical and commercial skills needed to succeed in global investment banking.

Key Responsibilities

• Shadow senior sales and trading professionals during client advisory sessions.

• Support the preparation of presentations, market updates, and investment insights.

• Analyze market data and transform it into actionable recommendations.

• Assist in structuring client solutions that meet specific investment objectives.

• Build relationships across trading desks, product specialists, and operations.

• Gain exposure to a diverse client base including asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds, and corporates.

Your Team

You’ll join the Global Markets team in Johannesburg, a dynamic group bridging financial products with client needs. The team covers advisory, cash equities, derivatives, structured solutions, and equity financing.

Minimum Requirements

• Penultimate-year, final-year, or recent graduate (within 1 year) in:

  • STEM, Finance, or Economics (Honours/Masters preferred).

• Strong academic performance.

• Analytical and numerical skills.

• Excellent communication, both written and verbal.

• A proactive, client-centric, and commercial mindset.

• Ability to work collaboratively in teams.

• Knowledge of South African financial markets is advantageous.
