About the Internship Role
As an intern, you will work closely with the Gender M&E Analyst, supporting the GBVF Directorate. Your responsibilities will revolve around information management, stakeholder coordination, and administrative support, making a meaningful contribution to UNFPA’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
🗃️ Information and Data Management:
-
Maintain and update a repository of GBVF-related information
-
Catalogue reports and resources from civil society, government, and partners
-
Monitor usage and respond to data and information requests
🤝 Stakeholder Coordination:
-
Update and maintain a stakeholder spreadsheet (contacts, contributions, etc.)
-
Conduct quarterly verification of stakeholder information
🗓️ Event and Meeting Coordination:
-
Schedule and support stakeholder meetings and consultations
-
Prepare agendas, capture meeting minutes, and follow up on action items
-
Provide logistical and administrative support for events
📊 Project and Research Support:
-
Track and document ongoing GBVF-related projects in South Africa
-
Attend virtual meetings and compile summaries
-
Assist with internal project monitoring and reporting
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements:
-
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree and have completed at least one academic year
-
Currently enrolled in a postgraduate (Master’s or equivalent) programme
-
Recently graduated (within the last 12 months)
-
Enrolled in a postgraduate trainee programme linked to academic studies
Additional Requirements
-
Keen interest in development and gender equality issues
-
Strong communication, writing, and analytical skills
-
Proficient in English (spoken and written)
-
Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural and diverse settings
-
Experience with development agencies or volunteer work is advantageous
