Job Overview

Hollywoodbets is seeking a vigilant and professional VIP Security Officer to be based in the Eastern Cape. The role is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. The successful candidate will play a critical frontline role in branch security, access control, guest interaction, and loss prevention.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct perimeter patrols before branch opening and during operating hours

• Monitor surroundings for suspicious behaviour during opening and closing procedures

• Perform internal and external patrols, including parking and back-of-house areas

• Operate scanners, panic buttons, radios, and surveillance equipment

• Control access to the premises and enforce age, bag, and weapon restrictions

• Ensure gender-compliant scanning of guests

• Manage crowd flow and vehicle movement on the premises

• Assist with opening, closing, stock receiving, alarm testing, and daily reporting

• Deliver professional guest service and act as the first point of contact for visitors

• Respond to incidents promptly and escalate risks using emergency systems

Qualifications

Education

• Matric (advantageous)

Experience

• Previous security experience (advantageous)

Skills

• Registered with PSIRA (mandatory)

• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail

• Ability to remain calm under pressure

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Physical fitness suitable for patrolling and shift work

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)
