Barloworld Equipment, a leading provider of heavy equipment and solutions, is currently seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Washbay Attendant to join our high-performing team at our Boksburg facility.

This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and readiness of our parts and equipment, ensuring that operations continue smoothly. If you’re a hands-on individual who enjoys working with machines and values safety, then this opportunity is perfect for you.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Execute appropriate cleaning procedures for a variety of equipment using designated chemicals and cleaning machines.

• Perform inspections to verify part cleanliness, integrity, and compliance with quality standards.

• Manually clean parts using scrapers, brushes, cloths, compressed air, and metal preservatives.

• Safely mix and handle hazardous chemicals and abrasive cleaning solutions.

• Operate cleaning machines such as Bupi and Proceco efficiently and in line with safety standards.

• Use forklifts and overhead cranes to transport heavy parts in and out of cleaning machines.

• Conduct sandblasting and high-pressure washing as required.

• Monitor machine performance and report any issues or malfunctions to supervisors.

• Maintain cleaning tools and equipment using Barloworld’s standard operating procedures.

• Ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace in line with 6S principles.

• Maintain proper inventory of cleaning supplies and materials.

• Prioritize parts cleaning according to production schedule and priority status.

📋 Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12) is essential.

• Strong verbal comprehension and manual coordination (aiming/hand-eye coordination).

• Physically resilient and capable of working in an industrial environment.

• Must be able to obtain forklift and crane certifications within 90 days of appointment.

• Experience following instructions and working under supervision.

• A valid Driver’s License – Code B is advantageous.

• Understanding of assembly line processes is a plus.

• Prioritization and time management skills.
