WSP South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and driven Wet Services Project Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Cape Town or Midrand. This position plays a key role in delivering end-to-end wet services engineering solutions across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
You will use your technical expertise to develop plumbing and drainage designs, prepare tender documentation, ensure compliance with local and international standards, and support the full lifecycle of engineering projects. This role allows you to collaborate across disciplines, contribute to high-impact developments, and grow within one of the worldโs leading engineering consultancies.
๐ง Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
-
Deliver complete plumbing and drainage designs aligned with SANS 10252 and SANS 10400.

Perform theoretical design calculations and apply engineering principles.

Apply supplementary British/International codes (CIBSE, BS, ASPE) where required.
Project Management & Documentation
-
Prepare accurate project budgets and cost reports.

Create tender documentation, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).

Compile JBCC-based tender documents and participate in tender evaluations.
Technical Coordination
-
Attend site visits, technical meetings, and resolve design- or installation-related queries.

Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams.

Generate detailed project reports, technical drawings, and supporting documentation.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
-
Promote WSPโs Zero Harm commitment for SHEQ compliance.

Identify safety risks and ensure all work follows WSPโs SHEQ standards.
๐ Qualifications & Experience
Essential
-
BSc/BTech Mechanical Engineering
-
3โ5 years of experience in Wet Services design and project management
-
Familiarity with MEPF building services
-
Candidate Engineer registered with ECSA
-
Solid experience with BOQs, tender documentation, and JBCC-based contracts
-
Knowledge of SANS 10252, SANS 10400
Advantageous

Professional ECSA registration
-
Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD experience
-
Bluebeam experience
-
Knowledge of CIBSE/BS/ASPE codes

Experience working on large building services projects
