The eThekwini Municipality WIL Programme 2025/2026 is your chance to gain the essential practical experience needed to launch your career in the public sector.

This government-backed Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programme offers real-world exposure, structured support, and the opportunity to develop critical workplace skills within a dynamic municipal environment.


🌟 About the eThekwini WIL Programme

eThekwini Municipality is committed to empowering young South Africans by providing opportunities to bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace requirements. Through this fully-funded in-service training, the municipality aims to:

  • Support students in fulfilling their TVET graduation requirements

  • Equip participants with practical experience in local government administration

  • Encourage skills development, diversity, and inclusivity in the workforce

This programme will give you hands-on experience that aligns with your studies and opens the door to future employment within the public sector.


✅ Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the WIL Learnership, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen

  • Reside within the eThekwini Municipality region

  • Have successfully completed a National N6 Certificate in:

    • Public Management or

    • Public Administration (minimum 240 credits)

  • Not have previously participated in any Government or Private Sector WIL Programme for 12 months or more
