Are you ready to take the reins of a boutique wine estate and make your mark in South Africa’s vibrant wine industry? A rare and exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and business-minded Winemaker & Farm Manager to join a unique wine farm nestled in the heart of Paarl, Western Cape.

This is far more than a traditional winemaking role – you will be leading every aspect of vineyard and cellar operations while actively contributing to the strategic direction and rebranding of the estate. If you’re equally comfortable in vineyard boots and strategic boardroom meetings, this role is tailored for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full oversight of wine production processes – from grape selection to bottling.

• Management of vineyard operations across 7 hectares – planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting.

• Develop and implement harvest schedules aligned with production targets.

• Source and purchase quality wine for blending – negotiations included.

• Spearhead a bold rebranding and repositioning project for the winery.

• Manage and improve the estate’s tasting room – open 7 days a week.

• Oversee the operation of an on-site restaurant (currently open for lunch, with expansion plans).

• Collaborate directly with owners on strategic planning, marketing, and growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• A formal qualification in winemaking is essential.

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in winemaking and vineyard/farm management.

• Track record in vineyard development, planting, and maintenance.

• Business-savvy with a strong commercial mindset and strategic foresight.

• Experience in hospitality management is advantageous.

• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and negotiation skills.

• Passionate about wine, sustainability, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
