Job Overview
Anglo American is seeking an experienced IT Specialist (Marketing & Logistics) to act as the key interface between business teams and the Information Management organisation. The role focuses on delivering and supporting commercial enterprise systems that enable efficient business processes across the organisation.
This position plays a critical role in enterprise application architecture, system optimisation, and digital transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will lead solution design, system integration, and platform governance while ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as system owner for assigned enterprise applications and platforms
- Ensure alignment between business processes and commercial enterprise systems
- Drive optimisation of business performance through system enhancements
- Ensure compliance with IT General Controls and audit requirements
- Lead enterprise data and process design in collaboration with business stakeholders
- Analyse complex business requirements and design technical solutions
- Provide guidance on technology adoption and process improvement opportunities
- Manage platform operations including availability, performance, and security
- Develop functional specifications, system configurations, and testing frameworks
- Support system integration, data mapping, and migration activities
- Define and maintain solution architecture, technical standards, and design patterns
- Act as design authority for enterprise application solutions
- Lead development teams and oversee project delivery lifecycle
- Promote DevOps maturity and cloud-native engineering practices
- Evaluate emerging technologies and conduct proof-of-concept initiatives
- Support application support service providers in issue resolution
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification (Master’s degree) is advantageous
- Equivalent extensive practical experience will also be considered
Experience
- Strong experience in enterprise application architecture and system design
- Experience managing commercial systems and service providers
- Background in system standards, development, and IT operations
- Experience working with ERP and enterprise platforms (Azure, .NET, SQL, SAP BTP, Power Platform)
- Experience in compliance, IT controls, and audit support
- Exposure to large-scale digital transformation projects
- Experience in solution architecture and enterprise integration
