Main Focus Areas
The Nursing Manager will be responsible for the strategic, operational and clinical nursing management of the hospital. This includes the co-ordination of all functions and activities related to the provision, promotion and assurance of clinical patient care, through the leadership of a multidisciplinary team in consultation with all relevant stakeholders.
Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)
Ensure 100 % reporting of all incidents and alerts
Investigate and Report all incidents as per Lenmed / Hospital policy
Ensure that you provide safe, cost effective quality patient care in line with the clinical governance strategy of Lenmed / hospital and evidence based practice
Evaluate nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes
Promote health and wellbeing of patients and employees
Ensure the principles of infection prevention and all international standard precautions are adhered to
Implement group quality initiatives
Identify areas of non-compliance via units clinical audits
People management, succession planning/resource plan for the nursing department and ensuring retention of staff
Training of staff in the specalised units to ensure we have competent workforce in our specialised units.
Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)
A relevant nursing qualification ( B Cur Degree/ or relevant management qualification)
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations
Sound financial knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data
Computer literacy
