๐ About the Role
The SAPS Forensic Science Laboratory in Mayville is seeking 15 Administration Clerks to support case management, exhibit handling, client services, and administrative operations.
This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of forensic case workflows, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and supporting analysts through efficient reception, registration, and dispatch processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong organizational and administrative skills who want to contribute to South Africaโs criminal justice system.
๐ Minimum Requirements

Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) โ NQF Level 4

๐ Key Duties & Responsibilities
Case & Exhibit Management
-
Receive and register cases according to SAPS and forensic standards
-
Allocate cases to analysts, ensuring adherence to quality requirements
-
Receive exhibits/dockets from analysts and perform follow-up administrative duties
-
Ensure proper storage and handling of samples and exhibits
Client Service & Communication
-
Assist with case enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
-
Scan and prepare reports for dispatch
-
Support Investigating Officers by dispatching completed analyses
Dispatch, Archiving & Documentation
-
Perform official dispatch functions in line with SOPs
-
Prepare cases for offsite archiving
-
Ensure proper record-keeping and documentation for all case movements
Compliance & Quality Assurance

Maintain compliance with Quality Management standards
-
Uphold Health & Safety protocols within the laboratory environment

Support forensic processes through accurate admin practices
