Job Overview

The Assurance & Monitoring Internship at Road Accident Fund provides unemployed graduates with practical workplace exposure in internal auditing, governance, compliance, risk management, and assurance monitoring processes.

Interns will support internal control reviews, assurance reporting, monitoring activities, and compliance administration while gaining valuable experience within a professional public sector environment.

The programme is designed to develop workplace readiness and strengthen technical competencies in assurance and governance functions.


Key Responsibilities

Internal Control & Assurance Support

  • Assist with implementation of internal control reviews
  • Support control self-assessment activities
  • Assist with development of control improvement plans

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track corrective action implementation and effectiveness
  • Monitor assurance activities across processing centres and regions
  • Maintain Combined Assurance Dashboard reports

Administrative Support

  • Assist with meeting coordination and agenda preparation
  • Draft meeting minutes and follow up on action plans
  • Support assurance and compliance administration processes

Stakeholder & Information Support

  • Attend to internal and external stakeholder inquiries
  • Assist with information gathering and reporting
  • Contribute to preparation and submission of reports

Qualifications

Education

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
    • Internal Auditing
    • Risk Management
    • Governance
    • Compliance
    • Auditing

Experience

  • Must be unemployed
  • Must not have worked previously in Internal Auditing, Risk Management, Governance, Compliance, or Auditing
