Job Overview

The Cashier is responsible for delivering excellent customer service at the point of sale while ensuring accurate and secure handling of transactions. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity, minimizing risk, and enhancing the customer experience within the store.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Assist customers efficiently during the checkout process
• Promote a positive store experience

Cash Handling & Transactions

• Process purchases accurately using the till system
• Accept various payment methods (cash, card, etc.)
• Issue accurate receipts for all transactions
• Balance the till at the end of each shift

Store Operations

• Maintain proper control of cash and receipts
• Support public relations through professional conduct
• Uphold and promote company values and culture

Qualifications

Education

• Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential

Experience

• 2–3 years cashier experience (Advantageous)

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in English
• Basic computer literacy

• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work retail hours (weekends and public holidays)
• Friendly, helpful, and professional attitude
