Job Overview

The City of Johannesburg is inviting applications for the Executive Director’s Office Internship within the Human Settlements Department. The internship programme is designed to provide unemployed graduates with practical exposure to administrative operations, strategic planning, research, monitoring and evaluation, and public sector management.

Successful candidates will participate in daily departmental activities while gaining valuable experience in municipal administration and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The City of Johannesburg will require interns to:

  • Support administrative operations within the Business Management Directorate
  • Assist with research, analysis, and reporting activities
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation processes
  • Support risk management and regulatory compliance functions
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and business plans
  • Assist with quarterly reports and concept note development
  • Perform office administration duties including filing, data capturing, and mail handling
  • Assist with event planning, logistics, marketing, and operational support
  • Support marketing and promotional activities including social media materials
  • Provide customer service and respond to public queries
  • Assist with the implementation of Human Settlements programmes

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7) in:

    • Business Administration
    • Journalism
    • Media Studies
    • Public Administration
    • Public Management
