Job Overview

SOLEVO Group is seeking a Factory Operator to support chemical production operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role focuses on safe equipment operation, adherence to safety protocols, and ensuring efficient handling of raw materials and finished goods.

The successful candidate will work within the production team to maintain operational flow, support logistics within the plant, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and ensure they are in safe working condition
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and upload records into the system
• Report equipment defects to the Production Manager
• Safely load and unload trucks and finished goods
• Ensure proper storage and handling of packaged chemical products
• Identify and report leaking drums or hazardous material issues
• Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Weigh and handle raw materials for production processes
• Support manufacturing plant operations and production activities
• Complete daily housekeeping of the production and warehouse areas
• Follow picking procedures and ensure accurate documentation flow
• Attend safety meetings and comply with site safety standards

Qualifications

Education

• Grade 12 / Matric required

Experience

• 1–2 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Forklift operation experience is essential

Skills

• Valid forklift licence
• Ability to operate in a chemical manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
• Basic understanding of warehouse and production processes
• Good discipline, punctuality, and reliability
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational setting
