Job Overview
The HR Manager (Mgr โ Human Resources II) plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department within the hotel.
This role focuses on recruitment, employee relations, training and development, compensation, and compliance, ensuring that HR services align with business goals while enhancing employee experience and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Support the full recruitment lifecycle including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring
- Build relationships with external recruitment partners and attend job fairs
- Ensure recruitment processes align with HR policies and diversity goals
- Provide guidance to management on selection procedures
Employee Benefits & Administration
- Manage unemployment claims and related reporting
- Audit HR reports and ensure accuracy of employee records
- Support benefits administration processes
Training & Development
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation programmes
- Ensure employees receive proper training for their roles
- Support ongoing learning and development initiatives
- Promote a strong service culture aligned with hospitality standards
Employee Relations
- Maintain effective communication channels across the property
- Handle employee concerns using an open-door policy
- Support disciplinary processes and ensure consistency
- Collaborate with management to resolve workplace issues
Compliance & HR Governance
- Ensure employee files and records meet legal requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive information
- Support safety initiatives and workplace compliance standards
- Manage workersโ compensation and incident reporting processes
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- High School Diploma (Matric) with 3 years HR experience
OR
- 2-year Diploma/Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field with at least 1 year HR experience
Experience
- Experience in HR, operations, or a related professional environment
- Exposure to hospitality HR practices is advantageous
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of HR processes and labour compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple HR functions simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making capability
