Amazonβs IT Services Support team serves as the first point of contact for technical support service requests from corporate employees worldwide. The IT Services Support Specialist will provide high-quality, customer-focused support via chat, calls, emails, and ticketing systems.
This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will maintain high levels of productivity, provide accurate and timely solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction while supporting global IT operations.
This position is remote by design but requires candidates to be based within commuting distance of Cape Town for weekly in-office meetings and team collaboration.
πΉ Key Responsibilities
π» Provide comprehensive technical support to Amazon employees worldwide via chat, calls, email, and ticketing systems.
π Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
π¨ Maintain and troubleshoot hardware including Zebra thermal printers, thin clients, PCs, scanners, and handheld terminals.
π Support network troubleshooting and manage interdependent system issues.
π Create detailed call logs documenting interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
β‘ Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and utilize Knowledge Management effectively.
π Manage a case load of 15β25 tickets concurrently while maintaining high-quality support.
π¨ Triage and escalate system or network outages to reduce downtime.
π Continuously acquire and maintain knowledge of relevant support policies, tools, and procedures.
πΉ Key Requirements
π― Proven experience providing technical support in a corporate environment.
π» Proficiency with Windows, Mac, and/or Linux operating systems.
π Hands-on experience troubleshooting integrated and interdependent computer systems.
π Experience with network support and troubleshooting.
π¨ Ability to maintain and troubleshoot office hardware including printers, thin clients, PCs, scanners, and portable handheld terminals.
β Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
π Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
π Flexibility to work rotational schedules, including weekends.
πΉ Qualifications
π Education:

Matric / High School Diploma (required)

Technical certifications (preferred): CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, RedHat Linux, Microsoft hardware installation, AWS or other relevant IT certifications

Experience in dynamic IT environments supporting a high volume of users
