🎯 About the Role: Learner Support Agent (LSA)

Are you passionate about public health, youth empowerment, and community outreach? TB HIV Care is seeking energetic, youth-driven candidates to join the PPPrev team as Learner Support Agents (LSAs).

As an LSA, your role will be to engage, educate, and support adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in your community. You will help raise awareness about HIV prevention and link young people to essential health services, including PrEP and other structural programmes.


✅ Minimum Requirements

  • 📘 Grade 12 or TVET Level 2
    (OR Grade 10 with 1 year of experience in HIV-related programmes)

  • 🎯 Aged between 18–35 years

  • 🗣 Ability to communicate in English, isiZulu, and other local languages

  • 🚘 A driver’s license is an added advantage

  • 🧪 HIV Counselling certification is beneficial but not mandatory


🛠 Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • 🗣 Mobilise and educate AGYW on HIV, gender rights, and health issues

  • 🌍 Conduct mapping to identify local “hotspots” and reach vulnerable populations

  • 💬 Create peer awareness on HIV prevention tools, including PrEP

  • 📝 Conduct pre-screening to identify vulnerable AGYW and refer to support programmes

  • 📊 Record all mobilisation activities accurately

  • 🧩 Implement effective case management strategies aligned with programme guidelines

  • 💬 Facilitate and recruit for youth care clubs

  • 🧭 Provide support in assessing youth needs related to HIV prevention and adherence

  • 📈 Submit weekly/monthly reports and activity tools to the Clinical Trainer

  • 🧠 Attend training and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
